I’m an IT Manager who comes from a web application development background based in Cardiff, South Wales. I have been developing web systems since the 90’s and have been involved with computers since as far back I can remember. I generally consider myself a PHP Web application developer and my preferred Operating systems include Linux and Unix based systems.
I am very enthusiastic about product development and enjoy using an array of technologies in order to achieve the optimum solution. I enjoy analysing systems, researching design patterns and developing code which can provide effective delivery solutions across a multitude of hardware and software environments. I also enjoy the challenge of building scalable web applications using ‘Cloud Computing‘ architectures.
When I’m not working I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, playing games, walking and visiting places of interest. Most weekends I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend Jody and our crazy little dog Buster.
I also enjoy trying to keep up with the latest news in science and technology.
Professional Biography
I am currently the IT manager of Tracesmart Ltd, developing innovative web software focused on people tracing, data cleansing and identity/pension fraud solutions. I manage a team of developers, testers, support technicians and analysts to provide professional solutions to the business. We develop forward thinking web based solutions which act as a backbone for a high number of recognised UK based businesses. Our award winning products continue to grow as we innovate and implement new solutions based upon the demand and requirements from the UK market.
I joined Tracesmart Ltd in March 08, having previously worked for Hargreaves Lansdown Bristol.
My career to date has led me to work within several industries developing software, which include the financial services industry, business intelligence, manufacturing, e-commerce, data mining and other media based industries.
Academic Foundation
I graduated with a first class honours degree from the University of Glamorgan 2005 in Internet Computing BSc (Hons). Whilst studying at University I developed an e-commerce solution which went on to win the Fujitsu Networking Award 2005. I have since become a Professional Member of the British Computer Society and attend regular events by key note speakers with the South Wales branch of the BCS.
